Fans of MMA and boxing will be pleased to know that both are available, in addition to auto racing, cricket, golf, rugby, tennis, baseball, and more.

The playMGM sportsbook doesn’t boast as many sports as other national chains, but for a sportsbook tied to a land-based casino, it’s doing well to offer a good variety to its users. No support yet for sports like darts or Aussie-rules football, but we imagine adding sports to the playMGM online sportsbook isn’t too much of a stretch.

playMGM Odds

Odds are competitive and payouts are good on the playMGM sportsbook. Oddsmakers at playMGM are always making sure that the odds aren’t that much different at the counter or the playMGM online sportsbook. However, the handle from online play is counted differently from in-person play, so you are likely to see a bit of a difference between the odds online and in-person.

Still, we found that the odds were competitive when compared to other sportsbooks in the area, and that’s all that really matters. As far as playMGM NJ goes, there doesn’t seem to be any kind of streaming option available just yet. We’re hoping to see a rollout of a more built-in streaming experience in the near future, but for now, it’s nice that there are some games that you can bet on live as the games are being played.

When you’re streaming any matches on the same device you’re betting on, make sure you’re on a solid WiFi connection. Customer care representatives are usually able to tell if your connection was dropped, but it is possible that streaming issues will affect your experience. Still, we’re waiting on playMGM New Jersey to implement a more fully-fledged sports live stream.

playMGM App & Mobile Experience

Getting the playMGM sportsbook on your smartphone or tablet is pretty easy, and a good way of betting on your favorite sports from anywhere in New Jersey, even your couch! Download the app from the App Store or find the Android version by going to the website using your mobile browser and tapping the Download for Android button.

A note about versions: the Android version of the app isn’t hosted on the Google Play store, so you will need to download the APK from the website and “Allow installations from unknown sources” on your phone to continue. Then, sign up, get your welcome bonus enabled, and make your first deposit!

The mobile app performs very well across all devices, with a few caveats. Firstly, live betting only consists of a static screen displaying the score-- no other information is displayed. Secondly, the app could make better use of the screen space available-- the buttons are all quite large on modern smartphone screens.

That being said, we were happy with the app experience when using the playMGM online sportsbook-- it is a highly functional app that gives you nearly everything that’s available on the main site in an easy-to-read, streamlined interface. Perfect for both beginner and advanced sports bettors, this app is an excellent companion for bettors at home or on the go.

playMGM Payment Options

playMGM offers some very secure deposit and withdrawal options, but the options are limited for a modern sportsbook. Essentially, your only options for deposit are ACH, bank transfer, VIP Preferred, Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, and PayNearMe. You can also deposit cash at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

If you’re looking to withdraw funds from your account, you can do so at the Borgata in cash, by check, by Neteller, or using the VIP Preferred program. We’re hoping to see PayPal and a few more options added in the near future, but for now, the variety of options is decent enough.

playMGM Customer Care

When interacting with customer service for playMGM NJ, we found interactions to be generally helpful and prompt. If you’re looking for direct and immediate information, try looking over their Help section before pinging the 24/7 Live Chat representatives. You’ll usually find answers to your questions there, though we’d like to see the FAQ section expanded to a full webpage instead of just a PDF.

If you have a more involved concern, say with billing or wagering requirements, it would do you best to give them a call during business hours or shoot the customer care team an email. Overall, playMGM New Jersey had a great variety of helpful customer service options available at any time, and email responses were usually received within a business day or two.

This wouldn’t be a complete playMGM sportsbook review without noting some user criticisms. We have read several reviews indicating that the playMGM app can be buggy or crash at some times. Our testing team never experienced this-- it may be due to the users’ connections rather than the app itself.

In addition, some users on the sportsbook have noticed a change in wagering requirements that make it a bit harder to receive their welcome bonuses or free play cash. Again, this is a worthwhile concern, but as this is an industry-wide problem and one not specific to the playMGM service, we don’t give it too much weight.

playMGM Sportsbook Review - Our Verdict

The playMGM sportsbook is a good service offering a fair variety of sports, competitive odds, and a highly functional and streamlined app. We love seeing such a wide selection of new promotions and event-based bonuses, and the iRewards program is a good way for users to gain extra points just for betting on their favorite sports.
